When some people move, you just feel it.

Years ago I went to see Claire dance in a performance. I don’t remember anymore where or when the concert was, but I vividly remember a moment I had watching Claire and the rest of the company dance.  Without regard for specific choreography or a particular theme or story, without any dance literacy or experience, I remember watching the dancers during a specific number and experiencing a strong and sustained emotional tether to the movement onstage.   I remember saying to Claire afterwards, “I have felt the way you moved on that stage tonight.” It’s hard to explain, I think; but it has stayed with me for a long time.

Sometimes, when some people move, you just feel it.

This picture was taken last October at Polly Hill Arboretum in West Tisbury on Martha’s Vineyard.  I just love the effect the sun is having on the scene, and on Claire.  What a celebration of movement and nature and life.

I posted a little while back on Facebook about being so happy to have found an SD card full of family images that I thought were lost forever.  This is one of those images.  [Contented sigh. Gratitude.]

This picture was taken a few minutes before the one above.
